Sunday

Last night I rang Susan and Cheryl and wished them both safe journeys for the next day
And told them that Grahame and I would be at Sydney Airprt to meet them
And if we were late not to panic we are only caught in traffic (or we got lost...lol...)

My day started at 6:30am this morning
Grahame and I had to leave our place no later then 7am to travel to Newcastle (an hours drive)
To be at the car hirer place by opening at 8am,
We arrived at 7:50am and had to wait a few minutes for the place to open
After we filled in the paper work we left with our hirer car an 8 seater mini van
And headed back to our place to leave our own car.
When we got home I ran in and got my camera and Grahame our son Brandon and myself were off to Sydney to meet the girls at the airport
We were estimating a 2 hour drive from home to Sydney, hoping to get there
Before the first plane landed at 12:40pm which would be Chery's and Albert's plane from Tasmania.
We made it in plenty of time, had some lunch at the airport and then Brandon and I decided to
Go for a walk around the terminals looking out the big windows
This is the first time we have been to a big airport and Brandon was fascinated by everything
As we were waiting we could see this big bad black storm heading in from the south
I started worrying and hoping the girls and Albert would be alright
Then we saw a Virgin Blue plane land and we knew it was Cheryl’s and Albert's plane.

See the storm heading in behind the plane
Cheryl and Albert were lucky their plane landed and was allowed to taxi around and unload it's passengers
While they were taxing around the announcement came that they were closing the airport
Because of the bad electrical storm that was coming in, Apparently the storm was 5klms around the airport,
Nothing was taking off an nothing else was landing
They wouldn't even unload Cheryl’s plane of their baggage.
The doors opened for the plane to unload it's passengers and Cheryl and Albert were nearly the first ones out.
I would have recognised Cheryl anywhere
We hugged and introduced our hubbies.
I told them that the airport was closed and we had to wait for Susan.
So we went out the front like so many others so Cheryl and Albert could have a smoke.
We talked and talked and kept watch for the luggage which never did come...lol...
the rain and storm got louder and louder, the lightening for terrible
at 1pm Susan planes was suppose to arrive so Grahame and I left Cheryl and Albert and went to the other side of the airport through the car park (5 minutes walk) to see what they could tell us at Qantas airlines
Yes the same thing, airport closed all planes were circling up above us waiting for clearance.
Poor Susan being trapped up above
So we goes back to Cheryl and Albert and we just hang around outside the airport talking and waiting
Then Brandon waves his arm to let us know the luggage has finally arrived...lol...
As Cheryl, Albert, Grahame and I make our way inside to collect luggage
My phone rings...
It's dear Susan, i could hardly hear her but do make out that she has landed and something about luggage
I told her i'm on my way over now to meet her,
I tell the others what's happening and leave them to go meet Susan
Brandon and I trying to dodge the rain make our way through the car park again and walk inside the other terminal where people are waiting for their luggage.
I try ringing Susan to see where she is but my phone wouldn't connect.
By this time Grahame had come over with Cheryl and Albert and we start looking
My phone rings again and it's Susan i could hardly hear her but work out again that she has her luggage and is waiting outside.
Still talking to Susan, Cheryl and I make our way outside and here is Susan waiting patiently for us.

We left the airport after loading up Susan's luggage and arrived home to my place at about 5pm that afternoon,
Everyone came inside to met the family, I than grabbed my suitcase and we
Travelled 10 minutes away to where I had booked us all into a
cabin in a caravan park.
After booking in and unloading the van, we decided to go do a little shopping and then get some dinner
Before returning back to the cabin to chat and get to know each other better.

While doing the shopping we shopped for stuff like coffee, bread, butter, milk, jams and vegemite.
Then Albert wanted to know where the chocolate's were and off he went with his basket, Susan followed to get our favourite chocolates Fry's Turkish Delight...lol...most of what you see in the photo below is what Albert brought.
Not all these got eaten either what was left was boxed up with the rest of the food and taken to my place the day everyone flew home for the kids to enjoy.
